Macworld Buying Guide highlights Millenia CT

In December, Macworld published a Buying Guide called Find the best speakers. The goal in the guide was to inform readers that there are better options available to them, other than the built-in speakers found in their computer, smartphone, tablet and iPod - something we, as an audio focused company have been preaching for years. And so, you can imagine our gratification, when our very own Paradigm Millenia CT 2.1 speaker system was pictured with the headline as well as recommended within the guide itself.

Paradigm Sponsors Oakley Progession Sessions

Paradigm is one of the proud sponsors of the 2013 Oakley Progression Sessions, a two-day on-snow camp, designed for intermediate female riders who want to step up their "freestyle" skills on the hill and have fun while doing it. For women by women, Oakley Progression Sessions is staffed by Oakley's top professional ski and snowboard athletes.

Check out this Oakley Progression Session video preview...

Off the hill, participants attend stretching/yoga sessions and they get to customize their very own Oakley Elevate goggles. Lunch and après are included each day. And last but not least, participants get an AMAZING goodie bag, with a little bit of Paradigm love - we threw in a set of Paradigm SHIFT series E2m in-ear headphones for each lucky gal. Participants will be riding in style while jamming to their favorite tunes!

The Oakley Progression Session goodie bag, given to each lucky participant!

On top of that, one lucky lady in each group, the one that shines above the rest - a.k.a. the "Paradigm Weekend Rockstar" - will go home with a Millenia CT system, so they can continue rocking long after the weekend is over!

Oakley Progression Sessions is making four stops in March and kicks off this weekend in Squaw Valley, California. For the list of locations, click here!

Paradigm's Millenia CT wins "Product of the Year" Award from SoundStage! Network

Hans Wetzel of SoundStage!, reviewed the Millenia CT system in November, giving it a fantastic review and "Reviewers' Choice" status. Needless to say, we were delighted. But then we found out that the Millenia CT had made it into an even more elite group of stars, winning:

Product of the Year for Exceptional Value

The Exceptional Value category is defined as one that "emphasizes performance and affordability" - exactly what Paradigm strives for in every product we offer... How rewarding!

"Paradigm’s MilleniaOne and MilleniaSub have proven extremely popular with critics and consumers, not to mention interior decorators -- but a 2.1-channel system based on those models will set you back over $1500, which many consumers aren’t able to pay, no matter how good the setup might sound. Enter the Millenia CT system, cut from the same visual and sonic cloth and costing just $699 for the whole kit and caboodle. What’s more, it’s self-powered, so setup is a snap -- heck, you can mate it beautifully to your TV. And the CT sounds great. According to Hans Wetzel, in his November 2012 SoundStage! Xperience review, “This conveniently sized and carefully conceived system doesn’t merely hint at high-end sound -- it actually provides it.” Hans even bought a system for himself, something I think I might do -- you probably should too."

"The Paradigm Millenia CT is, by a good margin, the best self-powered, compact speaker system we've heard yet." - Digital Trends

A raving review, 4.5 stars and "Editors' Choice" award ... according to Digital Trends, all signs point to YES, when it comes to the Paradigm Millenia CT system! Here are some snippets from the review...

Fondle Worthy Aesthetics
"Once we unwrapped the speakers from their protective bags, we couldn't help but be impressed with their design and build quality. The Millenia's enclosures looked so smoothly finished, we couldn't resist running our hands over their flawless, glass-black paint. Even the sub... was still fondle worthy, with no flaws to betray the Millenia's premium price tag."

Quick & Easy Setup
"Setting up the Millenia CT was quick and easy. Since the speakers’ pedestal stands come pre-mounted, the only thing left to do was run the wires, tweak each speaker’s position, and fine tune the sub’s level for best integration."

Neutral Sonic Character
"... we cued up some choice lossless files and the Paradigm Millenia CT immediately filled the room with some of the most naturally refined and distortion-free sound we’d ever heard from a speaker this size. The Millenia’s overall sonic character can be defined by its almost dead-neutral and even-handed tonal balance, with just a bit of warmth through the lower mids and a slight recess in the upper treble."

Svelte Thunderous Bass

"Bass was full, deep, and highly articulate, just missing out on the lowest octave. The svelte little CT sub was woofing like a much bigger sub, producing thunderous bass that was completely satisfying in its output and impact... Never once did it cry “Uncle!” and always kept its composure regardless of volume."

Perfect, No-Holds-Barred Sound System
"It should be obvious by now the Paradigm Millenia CT wowed us big time. Its unique combination of near-flawless neutrality, eminent listenability, and its relaxed yet refined nature gives it a level of sonic goodness seldom heard from any speaker system, let alone one of the Millenia’s size. Add in its receiver-less operability, and you have the perfect, no-holds-barred sound system for your computer or video streaming device."

Simply The Best

"The Paradigm Millenia CT system is, by a good margin, the best self-powered, compact speaker system we’ve heard yet. It truly does deliver upper-echelon sound, and for that reason alone easily earns an Editor’s Choice recommendation. Well done, Paradigm!"

It's safe to say, we're delighted with Digital Trends' thoughts on the Millenia CT.

"Seriously, most people never get to experience sound this good at all." - Technology Tell on the Millenia CT

Towards the end of 2012, Dennis Burger of Technology Tell reviewed the Paradigm Millenia CT and as someone who has reviewed just about all of our traditional speakers, from the higher-end Studio gear right down to our entry level Cinema speakers, we really weren't too sure what Dennis would think about this simple, self-powered 2.1 system from our SHIFT series.

So you can imagine our delight when we saw Dennis' review posted online, scrolled down to the bottom and read the last line...

"Seriously, most people never get to experience sound this good at all."

"If you've got a simple TV setup with an Apple TV, I simply can't think of a better sound upgrade"

Now, we do want you to read the full review, but because we just LOVE to quote Mr. Burger, here are some snippets to get you excited...

Yummy!
"Bottom line: Bass = yummy. Dialogue = yummy. Imagining, dispersion, and enveloping-ness = yum yum yummy. Really, what I’m trying to say is that I just want to slather the Millennia CT system with peanut butter and eat it."

KA BOOM
"One word: BOOM... Okay, two words: KA BOOM... the Millenia CT system just downright roars. But it’s not all huff and gruff. The same gorgeous dispersion, wonderful imaging, and beautiful penetrating nature of the system made anything I threw at it sound gorgeous."

"the Millenia CT system would also make a really incredibly rocking 2.1 sound system for a PC or Mac"

Born to Rock
"...the luscious midrange of the CT system makes it sound absolutely delightful: incredibly warm, sumptuously rich, with a spot-on tonal balance and near infinite depth. I also really love how dynamic the system is. In that respect, it really calls to mind the Paradigm Cinema system I reviewed last year: even the quietest moments really reach out into the room without an ounce of struggle, and when called upon to rock, the speakers rock righteously."

"Seriously, most people never get to experience sound this good at all."

Well said Dennis, well said!... We're betting y'all want to read the full review now!

Two share-worthy reviews of the Millenia CT on Innerfidelity.com and CNET by Steve Guttenberg

Steve Guttenberg recently reviewed the Millenia CT and liked it so much, the review made its way on to Innerfidelity.com and CNET! Here are some great quotes from both reviews. If you have the chance to give both reviews a read, we highly recommend it!

"Major Mojo: Paradigm Millenia CT Desktop Speakers":

"Though it was designed with home theater in mind Paradigm's publicists assured me the sound would click on a desktop. I was a little skeptical, but as soon as I had the system up and running the sound was right on the money, even when I was sitting a mere 30 inches away from the sats."

"The little system will happily play really loud, far, far louder than I normally play on my desktop, and they never sounded like they were running out of gas... the Millenia subwoofer can massage your soul."

"...a significant performance upgrade from even the best sound bar":

"...if you listen to music more than you watch movies, the Millenia CT performance advantages over sound bars' loom large. Sound bars do their best with movies, and rarely sound great with two-channel music. The Millenia CT is equally adept with rock, jazz and classical music."

"Performance-wise it's a big step up from the very best sound bars, for about the same price or less."
